It's not even a taco truck, it's a yummy taco stand. Very friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. This is the real concept of the "food truck," not the ones selling items for outrageous restaurant price points. Got chicken, beef and shrimp tacos. The shrimp taco was most flavorful of the 3 and bigger. Still missing that kick of flavor I'm used to with street Mexican food in California but maybe I needed to ask for the hotter sauce. Once the protein is on your taco, you pick your toppings from salsa, onions, hot sauce, shredded cabbage, cilantro and onions...and lime slices. They take Apple pay as well or credit cards. Will def return! Ambiance? Depends how the weather is cooperating lol! There are chairs and tables across the way at the federal building you can use. Hours are m-f 10-3...from what I was told.

This place is absolutely delicious and authentic! We tried three tacos--steak, chicken, and pastor--and each one was packed with flavor. My son ordered the steak burrito, and the toppings were spot on. The medium salsa and avocado sauce were fantastic--seriously, so good! Highly recommend!

My favorite tacos in Utah! I go out of my way to go here. The prices are great, and the staff is incredible. Their carne asada and el pastor is on point, and their shrimp is delicious. The burritos are huge too, so if you have a small appetite ask them to cut it in half. Seriously, their food is so good. I've stood in the snow for this taco truck. Give it a try.

Best burrito I've had in SLC hands down! soft tortilla with melted crispy cheese (I got chicken- so flavorful and generous amount of meat). all the sauces, cabbage, pico, etc. absolutely made the burrito 100/10! It's huge and well worth $10. Surprised they don't have more love on yelp, everyone eats here in downtown for their lunch break, for a good reason! Friendly service too :)

Wonderful Service and Amazing Food! The food is always fresh and have many options. I would definitely recommend getting food here if you are craving authentic Mexican food.

I ate here practically everyday for a year while I lived nearby and when I am in town visiting it's the first spot I go back to. Great prices and amazing flavor and quality. IMO the best lunch option SLC has to offer. Tacos are amazing of course, but the quesadilla asada is life changing.

Street cart on the corner of State Street and 2nd South in front of the Federal Building. You always know it's a good street cart if there are tons of construction workers waiting to order. I wasn't wrong. I think it's the best street cart I have tried in SLC. They have tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas. They have a large selections of proteins and toppings. The staff is very pleasant and fast. They speak Spanish and fluent English. You can pay electronically with Apple or Google Pay, or a chip credit/debit card. They have a large selection of Mexican and American sodas. I got the nachos pastor. After the make the main dish, a lady has a large cooler full of toppings and sauces, so you can customize your meal. I will definitely return!

Tacos El Potosino is a great affordable lunch option in downtown SLC. I happened past the cart today around lunch time and had to stop and try it. At $2 per taco, the prices can't be beat! Service is quick and friendly. I ordered 3 pastor tacos with all the toppings plus green sauce and guacamole, and they were delicious. The pastor meat has a lot of flavor. I'm not sure their days/hours of operation since I just discovered this today, but I'm sure I'll be back for future lunches!
